ByteDance, the company that owns TikTok, has been accused by one of its former executives of helping the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) spy on Hong Kong civil rights activists and protesters. Yintao Yu alleges that people who uploaded "protest-related content" were identified and monitored, and that members of the state could also access US TikTok users' data.
